Key Solutions / Projects:

Health

• In December 2003, BT was awarded the contract as National Application Service Provider for the National Data Spine, the NHS National Programme for IT. BT chose Mastek as a software development partner for both the NHS Spine and London LSP programmes. Mastek was responsible for the development and support of all the applications in these programmes, including data integrity, terminology, reporting services and electronic transmission of prescriptions. Mastek was awarded a 10-year contract for this project.

Education

• Mastek has supported Capita in key engagements including: Connexions Card Project, a unique project spearheading innovative methods to keep students on the learning track and SIMS (School Information Management System), which provides administrative solutions to schools.

Transportation

• London Congestion Charging, a Transport for London (TfL) scheme. When Capita were awarded the programme, they contracted Mastek for the development of the core software with interfaces to over 15 third-party products. Mastek developed the SMS, phone, web services, and e-commerce capability as well as interfaces with camera controls and other key processes. Mastek delivered the development stage of the project in less than one year, allowing early implementation.

Criminal Justice

• Our work as consortium members for the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) and Scottish Prison Service (SPS) had significant accreditation, validation, authentication, security and interdepartmental integration requirements. A key feature of the Mastek solution was ensuring compliance with all privacy laws and public concerns regarding the sharing of criminal information only with authorised parties that had legitimate purposes.
