Barry Yard leads Mastek's business in the United Kingdom. He joined Mastek from Siemens where, as Executive Director, he was responsible for the Telco, Media, Utilities and Transportation industry sectors in the UK. Barry was also responsible for Siemens' relationship with the BBC and their £2bn, 10-year contract to provide technology and broadcast services. Barry brings over 25 years of experience in the IT services and consulting industry and has performed senior roles in both customer as well as supplier capacity.
Barry's experience in leading extensive service operations includes his role as Chief Executive of a NHS IT services organisation (providing the entire IT strategy, application development and operational support throughout the South West of England); the Chief Executive of the then newly-privatised Paymaster General's Office (providing pension payment and the UK government banking services throughout the UK public sector); and the Regional President of a solutions consulting and delivery organisation with EDS.
Barry gained a B.Sc. (honours) degree from Aston University, Birmingham, in Business Administration and is a Chartered Accountant.
Laurence Cook is responsible for leading Mastek's New Business Sales team in the UK. He joined Mastek from a three year period building and running software orientated Media start-up organisations. Prior to this he worked at Siemens IT Solutions where he was responsible for their Telco and Media business with the BBC and Hutchison 3G.
Laurence brings over 25 years of experience in the IT services sector holding several senior General Management and Business development roles. His experience in building sustainable business growth and new business acquisition has seen him involved in several high profile industry breakthroughs, most notably BBC's iPlayer service.
Richard joined Mastek in June 2010 and is now SVP Commercial in the UK, incorporating Insurance, Banking and Retail as primary areas of focus for this business unit.
Specific focus, experience and expertise on Sourcing Strategy and execution in the retail financial services sector in his previous role at TPI as Director of Financial Services Operations for EMEA. Prior to TPI, Richard lead the FS BPO sector for Siemens in the UK, preceded by 5-year periods at both LloydsTSB and Barclaycard, where he specialised in leading Business Change/Transformation programs and project professionals, as well as managing the strategy and implementation of a range of outsourcing and offshoring initiatives.
Elwyn joined Mastek in June 2010 and leads the Government & Health Business Unit. Elwyn has the best part of 30 years experience in the IT industry, with much of this spent working for commercial organisations serving the Public Sector where he acquired in depth experience of the defence, national security, criminal justice and central government sectors. Prior to joining Mastek Elwyn worked at Thales where he was responsible for the engagement on the UK National Identity Scheme and led the implementation and introduction of the first biometric identity card within the UK. Throughout his career Elwyn has held various roles in sales, account management as well as major programme delivery. Elwyn is a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and is a Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP).
Steve Latchem has been within the software industry for over 28 years, holding positions in large consultancy groups and IT Departments ranging from business analyst to object oriented consultant, architect, project manager, consultancy director, business development director, CTO and Strategy Executive.
Steve now specialises in helping Mastek’s clients and prospects to identify, architect and deliver leading edge solutions using contemporary and leading edge technologies and processes. His Mastek team’s particular focus is in providing genuine business value through solution innovation in the Public Sector, BFSI and Telco/Retail/Media domains.
He has presented at numerous conferences worldwide, published multiple articles in leading global publications and has co-authored 4 books on patterns, process and advanced architecture. Steve is also the Patent Inventor behind Mastek’s Kameleon™ data privacy product.
